Teaching drums professionally for over 25 years, I've seen a lot of the positive things that learning the skill of music does for people. There are now a lot of real studies and statistics that reinforce these benefits, but basically we see that students and adults of all ages build confidence, coordination, concentration and integration of all of the senses. Students that learn to read music and play an instrument do noticeably better in all areas of their education regardless of which field they ultimately pursue.

Add to that of course the pure enjoyment & appreciation that comes from understanding and playing the music of your choice, as well as the positive social opportunities that can come from doing this with old or new friends.

It doesn't take long to learn to play to your favourite music with the right teacher's guidance and encouragement. I accept each student as an individual and work at a pace that makes them comfortable  while having fun and progressing. I work with all ages, levels and musical styles and can always help you to reach the next step in your musical abilities.
